Why we started Patojita: More than just coffee
If you would’ve asked me a few years ago if I’d be starting a coffee company, I would have laughed because I don’t even drink coffee.
I’ve always loved building businesses. It’s what gets me out of bed. But I never wanted to build something just to chase profit I wanted to build something that actually matters.
I was raised by a single mom who worked harder than anyone I knew to give me opportunities. Watching her sacrifice shaped how I see the world. She taught me that success isn’t measured by what you own but by what you create and who you lift up along the way.
That’s how Patojita began. Not with coffee with purpose. Coffee was the perfect way to tell that story.
As I learned about Colombian coffee, one thing stood out: everyone talks about flavor, but almost no one talks about the people behind the cup. The early mornings. The long days. The families who’ve passed down knowledge for generations to grow something remarkable. Those lives, those stories, deserve to be heard.
That’s the heart of Patojita. A brand that reminds you there’s a human story in every cup.
I’m building this with one of my best friends, Paulina. Our moms have been friends for years, so we’ve grown up together. There’s something quietly powerful about building side by side with someone who’s known you your whole life.
We’re just getting started. There will be mistakes, lessons, late nights, and wins. That’s part of the ride and honestly, it’s the part we love.
If you’re here at the beginning, thank you. You’re not just buying coffee you’re joining the first chapter of Patojita. I can’t wait to share what’s next.
